Cancer Programs

UC is part of a joint cancer program involving Cincinnati Children’s Hospital Medical Center and University Hospital. The collaborative initiative brings together interdisciplinary research teams of caring scientists and health professionals to research and develop new cures, while providing a continuum of care for children, adults and families with cancer.

Center for Surgical Innovation

The Center for Surgical Innovation is a $9.5 million, state-of-the art teaching and research facility. Its mission is to leverage regional assets and become a world leader in surgical thinking and innovation-in research, medical practice and education.

Diabetes Center

The medical, social and economic burden of diabetes, already significant, is a growing problem for our region and the country. To address this problem, the College of Medicine has developed a state-of-the-art academic clinical center for the care of patients with diabetes.

Established in honor of IvaDean Lair, assistant dean of the College of Medicine, this annual fund provides financial support to medical students in need.

John Hutton, MD, Fund in Ethics

This fund was established in honor of John Hutton, MD, former dean of theCollege of Medicine. The annual lectureship, established in honor of Hutton's 15 years of leadership at the College of Medicine, encourages the development and maintenance of the highest standards of personal and medical ethics in the upcoming doctors at UC.

Millennium Plan

A biomedical revolution is emerging, and the Academic Health Center plans to bring Cincinnati to the forefront. Bringing this revolution to Cincinnati has the potential to promote economic development in the area and to address health problems that touch nearly all of our lives.

Neuroscience Institute

Neurological diseases and disorders such as stroke, brain tumors, multiple sclerosis, epilepsy, Parkinson's disease and Alzheimer's disease affect millions of families each year. Through the Neuroscience Institute, UC serves as the national leader in understanding and treating neurological diseases such as these.
