The UC Academic Health Center prides itself with excellent patient care and research programs, and strong affiliations with local hospitals throughout Greater Cincinnati. Below are some of our key program and affiliates.

Hoxworth Blood Center
UC's Hoxworth Blood Center collects, tests, processes and distributes blood and its components to 27 hospitals and medical centers in a 17-county area of Ohio, Kentucky and Indiana. The center is the only blood bank serving Greater Cincinnati.

UC Physicians
UC Physicians is the clinical practice management group for more than 500 UC College of Medicine faculty working in 18 different medical specialties. All care for patients, conduct research and teach medical students at UC's College of Medicine.

UC Barrett Cancer Center at University Hospital
The UC Barrett Cancer Center at University Hospital is a research-based but patient care-oriented program that encompasses scientists and physicians from multiple disciplines and medical specialties. UC scientists evaluate and apply the latest medical advances, quickly translating scientific findings into practical patient care.

The Neuroscience Institute
A collaboration between UC's College of Medicine and University Hospital, this regional center encompasses nine neuroscience specialties dedicated to patient care, research, education and the development of new medical technologies related to stroke, tumors, epilepsy, and movement and sensory disorders.

Genome Research Institute
The Genome Research Institute was created in 2001 to foster excellence in biomedical research–from basic science to translational medicine– and facilitate collaboration among academic and industrial researchers. Work at the GRI is primarily focused on the genetic, molecular, and cellular mechanisms of metabolic disorders, cancer, neurology and cardiovascular disease.

 

The Institute for the Study of Health
The Institute for the Study of Health is dedicated to the discovery of innovative solutions to contemporary health care challenges. The institute's mission is to drive innovation in health systems and clinical practice through the study of health and health care, and through the education of health care providers.

Cincinnati Children's Hospital Medical Center
Cincinnati Children's Hospital Medical Center is an international leader in research and medical care related to infant, child and adolescent diseases. The hospital is a major teaching affiliate for UC's College of Medicine.

University Hospital
University Hospital is the official teaching hospital for UC's College of Medicine. Managed by the Health Alliance, University Hospital is the region's first and only verified Level-1 Trauma Center for adults.  

 

Shriners Hospitals for ChildrenCincinnati
One of four pediatric burn hospitals in North America, Shriners Hospitals for Children–Cincinnati specializes in complete care and reconstruction services–free of charge–for children who have suffered major burn injuries. The hospital is a teaching and research affiliate for UC's College of Medicine. 

 

Cincinnati Department of Veterans Affairs Medical Center
The Cincinnati Department of Veterans Affairs Medical Center provides surgical, medical and psychiatric services to eligible veterans in the Tristate region. The hospital is key surgical referral center for central Ohio and primary teaching affiliate for UC's College of Medicine.

Christ Hospital
Christ Hospital is a 555-bed primary care hospital and serves as a major teaching affiliate for UC's College of Medicine and practice site for several UC physician groups. 

Jewish Hospital
Jewish Hospital, a 200-bed hospital in suburban Cincinnati that serves as an affiliate teaching hospital for UC's College of Medicine.
